Smart city software solution using RFID enabled city infrastructure to track bicycles and undermine the stolen bike market, leading to increased adoption of cycling and enabling cities to meet their clean transport goals.
RFID tags are discreet, robust and cheap; good locks are expensive and heavy; the figures show that end users are not adequately investing in their bicycles’ security; cities stand to gain by stepping in and addressing the problem of bicycle theft. BikeLook will allow cities to share the cost of bicycle security with their citizens, ultimately resulting in fewer thefts and more cyclists – a policy goal at local, national and EU levels.
